Week One Reflection

Week One Reflection  In Class This weeks topic was Campus engagement and what it means to be engaged. We discussed first in small groups then in the entire class group. We also watched a ted talk ( https://www.youtube.-com/watch?v=29tJAgc54RA ) about why we are here in college and About paving our own paths instead of the ones laid out by others, and if college was for everyone. Class discussion  As I said, in the discussion we talked about the word "engage" and said that inside of college it typically means to get involved in the community, join clubs and community service. But, we also talked about how it means to engage in class like how we ask question and answered questions. I feel that this is especially important because it not only help the class instructor to notice us and began to develop a rapport but also helps us to stay to stay focused because I find it hard to focus and listen for long periods of time without engaging in the class. Hi! My Name is Carter Stokes and I am Mechanical Engineering Student at Georgia Southern. I am originally from Slidell, Louisiana and lived there for sixteen years then moved to Kennesaw Georgia when I was in tenth grade. My interest include playing chess, disc golf, guitar and robotics. I choose Georgia southern for its mechanical engineering program and because of the beautiful campus.
